Helping Hands of St. Louis will hold their annual Winter Coat Fest on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the parking lot of 443 Sixth St. in downtown Toledo.

Volunteers will spend the morning passing out winter coats, hats, gloves and boots to anyone who needs them. Last year the organization passed out nearly 400 items, director Sue Shrewsbery said.

Susie’s Coats, Hannah Socks and Bags of Love will be working alongside the Catholic charity, while various area churches and school and service groups will be volunteering.

Masks are required and social distancing will be practiced.

Event parking will be available in the big lot across and along the street.

Helping Hands also urges everyone to donate gently used winter boots, especially men’s sizes 10 and up and men’s socks, children’s boots, and warm coats, hats, and gloves for men, women, and children, as they are continually needed throughout the winter.
